About

Boylesque TO is proud to be Toronto’s first all-male burlesque troupe. We’re a group of seven talented male performers who seek to celebrate male sexuality and playfully question male archetypes through titillating and comical live performance. As Torontonians, we’ve made a commitment to pay tribute to our city through our performances and to make it a sexier place to live.

Boylesque TO was conceived in the summer of 2007, when, after attending many burlesque shows which featured mostly female performers, troupe founder and artistic director Benjamin Paley (James and the Giant Pasty) began to wonder what male performers could do with burlesque.

Could men be funny and sexy on stage in the same way that women could? What male archetypes could they play off of? What would a male pasty look like?

Boylesque TO answered these questions and more with performances at Pride, the Toronto Burlesque Festival, an array of guest appearances, and back-to-back sold out shows during the summer. BoylesqueTO is currently working on their next show, slated for early March 2009! Check out the Events page for more details.
